Tunisia has a Mediterranean climate that is characterised by a dry, hot summer and fresh, humid winters. Precipitation is very irregular and rainfall varies considerably from north to south.

 

The country can be divided into four main geographical units: the north, the east, the centre and the south.

 

Mediterranean in the north and along the east coast, semi-arid inland and in the south, Tunisia enjoys guaranteed sunshine almost all year round. Winter is fresh and humid in the north and mild and dry in the south. The average temperature is 16°.
